DOE Awards a Spark Company in Voucher Program

The Spark Innovation Center hosted the Department of Energy’s Office of Tenchnology Transitions yesterday in a Voucher Announcement and Roundtable discussion event!

Thank you to Chief Commercialization Officer, Director, Office of Technology Transitions, Dr. Vanessa Z. Chan and her team for making it out to Knoxville for this event, to Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon for attending, and to the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council for coordinating!

The DOE Office of Technology Transitions, in collaboration with key energy offices, is granting support valued near $10M to 111 entities in advancing clean energy technologies! This initiative, funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Technology Commercialization Fund, will offer in-kind commercialization support through DOE-funded vouchers provided by 33 supporting organizations.

The Voucher Program covers five types of support, from analytical assistance to performance validation, aiming to accelerate market adoption of impactful clean energy solutions. Selected organizations, including three from our region, will receive vouchers up to $250,000 each.

One of the awardees is FC Renew, a current member of the Spark Incubator Program and an alum of ORNLs Innovation Crossroads.
